Uefa Champions League Liverpool Vs Man City

WEB Champions League drama as Liverpool win, Man City hit six and Messi disappoints

Liverpool reach semi-finals after tense clash with Manchester City

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino secure victory for the Reds

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola's Premier League rivalry came to a pulsating conclusion with a tense and tenacious 1-1 draw at Anfield on Sunday.

The result means that Liverpool will face Villarreal in the semi-finals of the Champions League, while Manchester City will take on Real Madrid.

Liverpool took the lead in the first half through Mohamed Salah, but Manchester City equalised after the break through Kevin De Bruyne.

The Reds pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but they were unable to find a way past the City defence.

Liverpool have now only lost one of their last 20 home league games against Manchester City (W13 D6), a 1-4 defeat in February 2021.

Manchester City, meanwhile, have won seven league titles since 2012, while Liverpool ended their 30-year league title drought by winning the 2019-20 Premier League.

Man City hit six past RB Leipzig

Manchester City continued their impressive form in the Champions League with a 6-3 victory over RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

The Citizens were in devastating form, with Riyad Mahrez scoring a hat-trick and Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Aymeric Laporte also getting on the scoresheet.

The result means that Manchester City are now just one game away from reaching the semi-finals of the competition.

They will face either Atletico Madrid or Manchester United in the last four.

Messi disappoints as PSG crash out of Champions League

Lionel Messi endured a disappointing night as Paris Saint-Germain crashed out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage.

The Argentine forward failed to score as PSG were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid on Wednesday.

The result means that Messi has now failed to win the Champions League since 2015.

It also raises questions about the future of the 34-year-old at PSG.
