Tenth and Final Season Concludes Long-Running Series
After nine seasons, the American comedy-drama series "Shameless" has returned for its tenth and final season. The show, which premiered on Showtime in 2011, is based on the British series of the same name by Paul Abbott. "Shameless" follows the dysfunctional Gallagher family, led by the alcoholic and drug-addicted father, Frank (William H. Macy). The series has received critical acclaim for its dark humor, complex characters, and exploration of social issues.
Season 10 of "Shameless" will consist of 12 episodes and will air on Sundays at 9 pm ET/PT on Showtime. The season will see the Gallaghers dealing with the aftermath of Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) departure at the end of Season 9. Ian (Cameron Monaghan) and Mickey (Noel Fisher) will continue to navigate their relationship, while Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Tami (Kate Miner) will face challenges in their marriage. Frank will continue his reckless behavior, while Debbie (Emma Kenney) will struggle to find her place in the family.
"Shameless" has been a critical and commercial success for Showtime. The series has been nominated for numerous awards, including 10 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. "Shameless" has also been praised for its representation of LGBTQ+ characters and its ability to tackle difficult social issues with humor and sensitivity.
