WEB Filipino boxer Hergie Bacyadan shared his thoughts about being a trans man in his sport a night before his debut bout which he lost. Bacyadan is set to make an historic Olympic debut in Paris as he competes in the women's boxing division.
Bacyadan's Olympic hopes were realized on Saturday evening when he became the first transgender male to fight. He will make his Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Games as one of five Filipino boxers out of 15 total athletes.
Despite his recent loss, Bacyadan's courage and determination have earned him widespread admiration. He has become an inspiration to other transgender athletes and has helped to raise awareness of the challenges that trans people face.
