Ianis Hagi Leaves Glasgow Rangers for Bundesliga

Ibrox tenure ends

Ianis Hagi's Rangers career has come to an end after securing a move to Germany with Union Berlin. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has been linked with a move away from Ibrox for months and has now finally sealed his departure.

Hagi joined Rangers from Genk in 2020 and quickly became a key player for the Glasgow giants. He helped the club win the Scottish Premiership title in his first season and was also named the club's Young Player of the Year. However, injuries have hampered his progress in recent months and he has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team.

New beginnings

Hagi will now be hoping to reignite his career in the Bundesliga. Union Berlin are a mid-table club but they have a reputation for playing attacking football and Hagi will be hoping to get plenty of opportunities to showcase his talent.

The move to Germany is a fresh start for Hagi and he will be determined to prove that he can still be a top player. He has all the attributes to succeed in the Bundesliga and he will be hoping to make a big impact at Union Berlin.

What does the move mean for Rangers?

Hagi's departure is a blow to Rangers but the club have already moved to replace him. They have signed Malik Tillman from Bayern Munich on loan and he is expected to play a similar role to Hagi in the team.

Tillman is a highly-rated young player and he has already shown his quality in the Bundesliga. He will be hoping to make a big impact at Rangers and help the club continue their success.
